The Colorado Buffaloes blew a golden opportunity to start their home conference slate off with a bang, dropping a 56-54 contest to the Utah Utes. The game was highlighted by the matchup between big-time big men Josh Scott and Jakob Poeltl. Scott may have won the battle but the Buffs lost the war.

Going into tonight I wouldn't have been that devastated by a loss. Now? Gotta close at home. Led by 9 in the second half. Time to finish.

Keg needs to be loud these last few minutes! Get up buffs!

Poeltl got the better of Scott on two huge plays where it mattered most there. CU offense has totally shut down.

Not exactly a banner evening for Josh Fortune. May have cost his team the game.
