TRENTINO, Italy—Junior Rune Oedegaard scored two more top 10 finishes here at the 26th Winter World University Games, held here the last several days, to lead a contingent of 14 current and former University of Colorado ski team members.

Beginning with the 4x10K relay race on Thursday, Oedegaard anchored the Norway team that finished seventh. Junior Arnaud Du Pasquier also anchored his Switzerland team to a 14th place finish. On the women’s side, former Buff Eliska Hajkova anchored her 3x5K relay team for the Czech Republic to a fourth place finish, just seconds away from earning a medal.

Also Thursday on the alpine side was the men’s slalom races, and sophomore Kasper Hietanen led six Buffs competing for various countries. He finished 27th for Finland, while Fletcher McDonald was 29th and Cameron Smith was 34th, both skiing for the United States. Only 44 of the 99 skiers that entered the race finished, and three Buffs did not finish; Roger Carry (Canada), Adam Zika (Czech Republic) and Henrik Gunnarsson (Sweden). Smith took 20th, Hietanen finished 21s and Fletcher McDonald 25th in the men’s combined results.
