SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - The University of Colorado tennis team fought, but fell 4-3 to the University of California, Santa Barbara on Friday afternoon. The Buffs are 3-3 in dual play, concluding a four-game road trip this weekend in California. The Gauchos improve to 4-3. "As a team we have to continue to realize as we have tough tennis matches against good teams that we need continue to compete in all our positions," CU head coach Nicole Kenneally said. "When we show up in all of them, we put ourselves in a good position to take the win. That's the basis for a good college team. Today I think we had some good matches, some of the girls had to compete through three set matches, but unfortunately we weren't able to pull all of those off. Three set matches are tough to pull off. As a group, we are working on finding consistency will all nine positions. We hope to have a good practice tomorrow and come out and compete against LMU on Sunday in all nine positions." The Buffs conclude their four-game road trip against Loyola Marymount. First serve is at noon (MT) on Sunday, Feb. 17 in Santa Barbara, Calif. More information and final results to come. |
