Also has them saying this was bohn's decision. Oddly enough, they don't have a single quote from bohn saying what the reporter says in the article... Or even a quote from the CU pres. Just quotes from the (deep breath) " associate vice president for university relations"

http://www.buffzone.com/ci_13982798

The article DOES say this...
When he announced the decision to retain Hawkins, Bohn said he was not forced to keep the coach.

However, no quote on this point. just a bunch of platitudes from Bohn about how Hawk can get the job done, and then PR from the flunky with the fancy title Ringo interviewed.

This article does nothing to dispel anything. what a load of crap.

Our program is a joke.. All they are trying to do is spin the story to cover themselves and to hope a bunch of fools out there actually believe Bohn wanted to bring Talkins back.. If that's true, then Bohn is the biggest idot on the planet..

We have to do some research and find if there has ever been a case where a coach at a major BCS program kept their job for 4 straight losing seasons in their first 4 years.. Because I can't think of one that has..

Completely depressing....we had better all pull for Danny and hope he gets it done next year, or he and Boner may have dug a hole so deep we will never get out of it.

 I thought our basketball coach was harping in on the Hawkins situation!

Bohn made this decision, and told some of the top financial supporters that he "made it very clear to Dan what the expectations are".

ya, and then dan didn't meet those expectations, and then Bohn went to hawaii and everything changed.

Why in the hell did this article not simply get a quote from Bohn saying "this was my decision"

As negative as this may sound, it's unfortunately the truth. Either Bohn was undermined or hoodwinked into believing this was the right thing to do, or Bohn himself did indeed really wanted to bring Talkins back. And if it's the latter, then Bohn is clearly an idot.

As for your 2nd paragraph, you'd have to exclude programs such as Duke, Northwestern, Rutgers (up until recently), etc. Unless of course you put CU in the same category as these programs, which would really be sad.
