Is this in violation of NCAA rules?
I'm pretty sure Joe Pa has been doing it for years at Penn St.
No, it's not against NCAA rules and from what I gather it seems to be a somewhat common practice at many schools for coaches to donate to their athletic department's development club...
Franchione gave a donation to A&M when he was there to build something, I forget what. It was a pretty large donation, though. Upwards of $1 million I believe.
Cool, good to hear. I'd be interested to see if Hawk has donated any loot.
Probably a statue of himself...
Joe Pa gives money to the university, not the AD. I believe the library and some other stuff was paid for by him and is named for him/his family.
I don't know if our football gameday programs have this but at some schools they list all the donors in the program...if anyone has one and can take a look to see if anyone notable is on there that'd be a start...
He donated a kid.
I recall possbily Patton making initial donation to kick start CU putting a new basketball floor in CEC
Now, come on. Hawk supplements his assistant's salaries. I think the Hawk "hate" has gone a bit to far.
He sacrificed a kid....unfortunately....
I think it was for a newsletter printing press.
It was a mistake. JoPa thought he was contributing to social security.
No, Barnett use to donate over $100K a year to the AD....why would their be a rule against it?
