Obviously not a big deal, but for those looking to occupy a little time, wanted to mention that thestridereport.com** is having an "April Anarchy" competition where they've created Top 64 all-time collegiate distance runner brackets for men and women, with people able to vote (through Instagram Stories*** on their account at https://www.instagram.com/thestridereport/).
**As a BIG general Buff sports fan, I can say this site, which almost solely concentrates on NCAA (all divisions) distance running, is one of my favorites for any sport.
***I had heard a little but, being a fossil, had never accessed Instagram Stories before. If there's anyone else as clueless as me, wanted to mention I had to go into (or in my case actually install) the Instagram App on my phone, followed thestridereport account (again https://www.instagram.com/thestridereport/), and the voting for the region/ gender being contested this day (one vote per screen, which auto-scrolled) came up.

As would be expected for a school with the Buffs' reputation, there are quite a few Buffs included in the brackets. (See the bottom of this post for the Buffs in the brackets.) Note that I believe this competition is only looking at collegiate careers, not what a person may have accomplished as a pro.

The "Anarchy" is already into the Round of 32, and look to just have voting going on for one region and one gender at a time, with an ~24 hour voting window per region/ gender. This afternoon they've opened voting for the Blue Region women (see https://www.thestridereport.com/post/april-anarchy-round-of-32-blue-region-women for the great runners going on this round), which includes Buff Great Kara Goucher, who as the #4 seed in her region is facing off against a surprise 1st round victor in Florida State's Colleen Quigley, who is a #12 seed. I just went in and voted, and it was very close at this point. (Ms. Goucher had a 51%-49% advantage.)

Their introduction to the contest, as I mentioned, said people can vote for 24 hours, but I'm not 100% sure when the 24 hoiur period starts. It looks like the article for this region's Round of 32 (https://www.thestridereport.com/post/april-anarchy-round-of-32-blue-region-women) was released around 2:00-3:00 PM MT, so assume anyone interested in voting should vote before that time tomorrow.?.

Women's -

Just eyeballing the names, the Buffs I see included in the brackets are (I'll include their listed Buff class, as well as a link to their Buff Hall of Fame or roster pages) :
Men:
Jorge Torres
(#6 seed in the Blue Region; Class of 2003; https://cubuffs.com/honors/cu-athletic-hall-of-fame/jorge-torres/112 )
Dathan Ritzenhein (#6 seed in the Green Region; 2004 (He left CU after, I believe, his sophomore year (???) to start his pro career); https://cubuffs.com/sports/2012/7/27/205534711.aspx )

Women:
Kara (Grgas-Wheeler) Goucher
(#4 seed in the Blue Region; Class of 2001; https://cubuffs.com/honors/cu-athletic-hall-of-fame/kara-grgas-wheeler-goucher/52 )
Emma Coburn (#5 seed in the Blue Region; Class of 2012; https://cubuffs.com/sports/track-and-field/roster/emma-coburn/2658 )
Jenny (Barringer) Simpson (#1 seed in the Yellow Region; Class of 2009; https://cubuffs.com/honors/cu-athletic-hall-of-fame/jenny-barringer/125 )
Dani Jones (#2 seed in the Red Region; Class of 2020 (I'm guessing?); https://cubuffs.com/sports/track-and-field/roster/dani-jones/133
Edit - Jessica (Pixler) Tebo (See post #3 for more on her.)

Just wanted to mention there's another Buff (Dathan Ritzenhein) who can be voted for in his (Green) bracket through around 1:00 tomorrow (4/27).

Note - it does look like Kara Goucher, Jorge Torres and Emma Coburn have advanced to the 3rd round of their brackets.

Thestridereport.com has opened up voting for the Red women's region for the Round of 32, and #2 regional seed and Buff great Dani Jones can be voted for. (see the original post for how to vote, which is via their Instagram at https://www.instagram.com/thestridereport/.)
(More on this region's matchups can be found at https://www.thestridereport.com/post/april-anarchy-round-of-32-red-region-women .)

Note- Apologies (I missed listing her in the original post.) to Ms. Jones opponent in this round, Jessica (Pixler) Tebo, as she is also a top (former in her case) Buff. A D2 legend at Seattle Pacific who earned a ridiculous 12 NCAA Championships in her time there, she came to the Buffs late in her college years, where she was still a top performer, with it looks like a highlight of finishing 3rd at the 2012 NCAA Outdoor Championships in the 5000 meter run. Per her Buff's roster page (https://cubuffs.com/sports/track-and-field/roster/jessica-tebo-pixler-/4899), she was also a top classroom performer, earning a 4.0 in all 4 semesters at CU on her way to earning a " Masters of Curriculum and K-12 Education degree". (Both her parents also ran with the Buffaloes.)

Also, wanted to note it looks like Buff Dathan Ritzenhein DID win his round of 32 matchup 75%-25%.

Another day, another Buff that can be voted for, as #1 seed Jenny Simpson's Round of 32 (Yellow) region is being voted on from the remainder of today through mid-afternoon (or so) tomorrow. (More info on those athlete match-ups for today - https://www.thestridereport.com/post/april-anarchy-round-of-32-yellow-region-women .)

Note- In a region's vote that recently ended, #2 seed Dani Jones, as expected, did win her round of 32 vote over another Buff, Jessica (Pixler) Tebo.

This afternoon, thestridereport.com opened voting on the Sweet 16 for both the men's and women's Blue region bracket, and there are two Buffs up for voting. For the 1st time, both #4 seed Kara Goucher (facing off against the regional #1 seed) and #6 Jorge Torres (facing off against the #2 seed) are underdogs.

As usual, voting is through Instagram story (at https://www.instagram.com/thestridereport/), with voting ending sometime mid-afternoon tomorrow.

More on the current match-ups - https://www.thestridereport.com/post/april-anarchy-sweet-16-blue-region-men-women

(Jenny Simpson did win her Round of 32 matchup a couple days ago.)

Another day, another chance to vote for a couple Buffs, as the Green Region Sweet 16 bracket being voted on over the next ~22 hours includes #5 regional seed Emma Coburn and #6 Dathan Ritzenhein. As with the vote that began yesterday and ended earlier today, both Buffs today will be underdogs, with Ms. Coburn going up against the #1 regional seed and Mr. Ritzenhein facing off against a #2 seed. (More on today's match-ups - https://www.thestridereport.com/post/april-anarchy-sweet-16-green-region-men-women )

Note- Looks like Buff Kara Goucher did advance (in an upset) to the Final 8 in the vote that ended earlier this afternoon, while Jorge Torres did not.

The vote has now opened for the Red Region's Sweet 16, which includes #2 regional seed and Buff Dani Jones. I just went in, and the early vote was VERY close right now (51%-49%), and any help she can get from Allbuffians might be needed/ helpful. (She's going up against another very popular runner who is a relatively recent (2019) grad from Boise State.)

More on the vote that just began (as with prior days, assume the vote will end mid-afternoon tomorrow) - https://www.thestridereport.com/post/april-anarchy-sweet-16-red-region-men-women

Note - Emma Coburn did advance to the Elite 8 in the vote that recently closed today, while Dathan Ritzenhein did not.

Just wanted to mention that anyone interested in voting for Dani Jones should definitely do so before voting closes mid-afternoon today, as I just went in and she's tied up 50%-50% with her (Boise State alum) opponent. (They don't give vote totals, so don't know if it's EXACTLY tied or not.) As previously noted, voting is done in the Instagram Story section of the https://www.instagram.com/thestridereport/ account. )

Looks like Dani Jones has now fallen behind (49%-51%). Hope any Allbuffians who have an Instagram account, happen to read this, haven't voted and have an Instagram account will go in and vote before it ends in an hour or two.

Wanted to mention that Jenny Simpson can be voted for through mid-afternoon today in a current Yellow Region Sweet 16 match-up. (She's up big (88%-12%) as I type this.)

Note- Dani Jones wasn't able to come back in her bracket, so didn't advance (by a 49%-51% vote).

As expected, Jenny Simpson easily advanced in the vote recently concluded, and voting has begun for ALL the women's match-ups in the Elite 8. 3 Buffs can be voted for through mid-afternoon tomorrow, #4 seed Kara Goucher (Blue Region), #5 Emma Coburn (Green Region), and #1 Jenny Simpson (Yellow Region).

As before, voting is done in the Instagram Story section of the https://www.instagram.com/thestridereport/ account. )

(Edit- I just voted, and as of now (I assume early in the voting) Kara Goucher only had 23% of the vote in her match-up, Emma Coburn had 93% and Jenny Simpson 56%.)

Voting has begun for the Final 4 for both men and women, and there are still 2 #ForeverBuffs (Emma Coburn and Jenny Simpson) who are in the contest and can be voted for. (Discussion of the Final 4 match-ups can be found at https://www.thestridereport.com/post/april-anarchy-final-4-all-regions-men-women .)

As previously noted, voting is done by going to the Instagram Story section of the https://www.instagram.com/thestridereport/ account. I don't know if they're extending the voting period because we're at the penultimate round, but if this is like all the prior rounds (???), the vote will be ending sometime mid-afternoon tomorrow.

Note - I just went in and voted, and as of now Jenny Simpson has a decent lead (69%-31%), but Emma Coburn could use Allbuffian assistance, as she's down in what is right now a TIGHT (48%-52%) contest.

It looks like both Buff women won their Final 4 match-ups and are into the final! (The men's side features 2 Ducks, so all 4 finalists are from the Pac 12.)

Assume folks can vote through mid-afternoon tomorrow on Instagram for either Jenny Simpson or Emma Coburn. (As I'd expect, Ms. Simpson has the lead ( 54%-46%) right now.)

Just to complete the story on this, Jenny Simpson did end up being voted THE top women's collegiate runner ever, while Emma Coburn ended up 2nd.

(There's no real article or anything; they just gave the names of the men's and women's winners.)
