Chido in the first round?

Buzz seems to be growing.

I think people were wondering if he'd slipped the last part of the year and then at the Senior Bowl with the light participation. But with the 40 times and vertical he put up along with his performance in drills, folks are now confident that their concerns were due to turf toe and he's finally put it behind him.

Nickel corners are in huge demand right now and I think that puts him into the 1st. Very similar to when the NBA game changed and finding a guy capable of recovering to challenge a shooter off a skip pass became such a big deal (and Dre went a lot higher than expected). Someone who could cover either Gronk or Edelman and also provide run support and a pass rush... that's a rare guy and a huge difference maker.

TB is a young team that is getting better, could be a good place to land.
End of the first round usually means you get a better quality team than early in the second (and a significant amount more money.)

Looks like a lot of teams want DBs this year and with other teams aware that may push guys higher with teams not willing to risk waiting. All of our DBs in the draft could benefit.

I think he's very similar to what Jabril Peppers is going to end up being and Chido is a lot better than Peppers right now. Peppers probably has the higher ceiling since there's a lot of unknown with him and he's the better athlete, but that guy might also just end up not having a position.

You hit the nail on the head. Chido is a natural CB/NB. Peppers is kind of a safety and kind of a LB but without the speed and size that would make him a sure fit at either spot. No doubt he is a baller, but IMO he is going to struggle to stay on the field in the NFL.

He's a day one starter as a punt return guy though, and a good defensive mind will find a spot for him. Coaching and scheme fit probably have more to do with most player's success than pure athleticism and/or talent.

I know they will find a spot for him. Like I said Pepper's can flat play football, but I think he is going to struggle in the NFL because his lack of size at LB can be taken advantage of, and his lack of ball skills will be taken advantage of at Safety.

Peppers can be a difference making player on defense in the NFL but he is going to need a team that will adjust their defense to fit him and cover for the areas he is weak in.

Chido is a guy who may not have the big play potential of Peppers but he looks like he will be able come in on day one and fit into multiple roles for somebody without them having to adjust for him or cover for him.

Peppers to me is a smaller Taylor Mays. Strong, fast, big hitter. Terrible in coverage and not someone who creates turnovers at all.

Peppers can return kicks though.

As much as it pains me to say this I do believe that Chido will be taken in the second round. This is the wrong year to be a top flight corner as there are many. It could happen and he is deserving but it would be a mild upset if he goes in the top 32

Why doesn't Peppers take a shot at rb perhaps? Do that, be a specialist and do some things on D. It seems to fit what he is. Doubtful that happens though.

Wow! Great for him and for CU as a whole. Always good to say you put kids into the NFL, even better when they're 1st rounders.

Anybody know about Chido's parents? They raised a good young man, Mac as well. Hope his dream doesn't stop with being drafted. Go for the whole thing man.

Please don't get the wrong idea because I asked. I just wondered mainly. I figured some of you might have met his folks maybe?

My question was more or less who his folks were and if anybody knew them, that's really it. Chido seems like a great young man. There is usually a reason for that.
