Coleman Qualifies For The US Women's Amateur

AURORA, Colo.—University of Colorado women’s golfer Jenny Coleman qualified for the United States Women’s Amateur Championship Friday with a 2-under par 71 performance here at the CommonGround Golf Club.

Coleman finished tied for second with her 2-under par performance that included 16 pars and two birdies. A senior this fall, she is just the third CU player to qualify for the Amateur, joining Erin Kerr and Jessica Wallace.

Coleman opened her round with seven straight pars and then had consecutive birdies on Nos. 8 and 9. She then pared out to finish the round at 2-under par. She was tied with Jennifer Yang, who will be a junior at Washington. The top five finishers advance to the U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship and the other three that advanced from CommonGround where Colorado High School athletes.
