Brett Burnette

HT: 6'3"
WT: 215

Quarterback
Arizona Western C.C. (JUCO-Early enroller)
Yuma, AZ

Rivals: 3*
Scout: 2*
ESPN: NR

With just two returning scholarship quarterbacks for the 2011 season, Burnette will be counted on to provide immediate competition and depth for Tyler Hansen and Nick Hirschman. Burnette arrived at Arizona Western via a transfer from Middle Tennessee State in the spring of 2010. His only season at Arizona Western was shortened by a rib injury, but Brunette still led the Matadors to a 6-1 record while throwing 10 touchdowns against just three interceptions. Already enrolled at CU, Brunette is eligible to work out and practice with the team this spring.

Sherrard Harrington
HT: 6'1"
WT: 170

Corner Back
H.D. Woodson HS
Washington, DC

Rivals rating: 3*-5.5rr; unranked CB
Scout rating: 2*; unranked CB
ESPN rating: 3*-77 grade; #38 CB

With the graduation of Jimmy Smith and Jalil Brown the Buffs suddenly go from corner being a position of strength to being, under manned and in experienced. The staff immediately identified corner back as a huge position of need and brought in Sherrard Harrington who is a big physical corner in the mold of Jimmy Smith. While he likely wont see the field at corner back next year Harrington will have the chance to compete for significant playing time and to be a major contributor at CU.

Jermaine Clark

HT: 6'2"
WT: 198

Athlete
Oak Ridge Military Academy
Oak Ridge, NC

Class of 2011

Rivals: 2*
Scout: NR
ESPN: NR

Clark is a versatile two-way athlete that played four different positions on the field during his senior season. However, CU recruited him primarily for the defensive side of the ball and he will be tried at either outside linebacker or free safety. Clark chose the Buffs over offers from Washington State, Utah, Nevada, Wyoming, and Memphis. He joins Oak Ridge teammate Rashad Hall as part of the 2011 class and is a probable redshirt candidate.

Rashad Hall
HT 6'0"
WT 190

Running Back
Oak Ridge Military Academy
Oak Ridge, NC

Rivals rating: 2*-5.4rr; unranked RB
Scout rating: NR RB
ESPN rating: 3* #67 RB

Rashad Hall is a bit of an enigma, he is a largish back with purported 4.3-4.4 speed who’s coach is calling a "four star talent." But he is not getting much love from the two main recruiting services. What we do know is with our questionable depth and size at RB is that over the next few years Rashad will be in the mix and competing for significant PT, we may however see him red-shirt next year since the depth chart is top heavy with Speedy and B-lock.

Stevie Joe Dorman

HT: 6'4"
WT: 215

Quarterback
Somerset High School
Somerset, TX

Class of 2011

Rivals: 3*
Scout: 3*
ESPN: 2*

A nephew of former Buff quarterback great Koy Detmer, Dorman joins the Buffs after a prep career that placed him in the top 10 all-time of every major statistical category for Texas quarterbacks. He is the second quarterback to sign with CU for the 2011 class and is a likely redshirt candidate. He committed to the new coaching staff in January and is one of two Texans in the 2011 class.

Will Harlos
HT: 6-4
WT: 200

Athlete
Somerset High School
Somerset, TX

Rivals: 2*
Scout: 3*; #117 OLB
ESPN: 3*; #99 OLB

A long-time Wake Forest commitment before switching to the Buffs shortly before signing day, Harlos joins Somerset teammate and friend Stevie Joe Dorman as part of the 2011 class. A versatile athlete that projects to play on the defensive side of the ball at the college level, Harlos is a likely redshirt candidate that will likely put on weight and play either LB or DE. He was a unanimous selection as his region's defensive player of the year as a senior and chose the Buffs over Wake Forest, Arkansas, and SMU.

Nelson Spruce

HT: 6'2"
WT: 190

Wide Receiver
Westlake High School
Westlake Village, CA

Rivals: 3*
Scout: 3*
ESPN: 3*

A talented two-way athlete who also played baseball in high school, Spruce projects as a WR at CU. He was one of the first commitments for the new coaching staff and is likely to compete for playing time immediately. In his junior and senior seasons, he combined for over 2,500 yards receiving and 36 touchdowns. He chose the Buffs over several MWC and WAC offers.

Alex Kelley

HT: 6'3"
WT: 295

Center
Vista High School
Vista, CA

Rivals: 3*
Scout: 3*
ESPN: 3*

Kelley is a CU legacy whose father Karry played right tackle for the Buffs in the late '70s. Kelley is a natural center who figures to compete for a starting job very early in his career. He committed in October to the previous staff and stayed on with the new staff. He chose the Buffs over offers from Boston College, Minnesota, Iowa State, Boise State, and a handful of other programs.

Will Oliver
HT: 5'10"
WT: 190

Kicker
North Hollywood, CA
Harvard Westlake

Class of 2011

Rivals: 2*
Scout: 2*
ESPN: 3*

With the graduation of the 3 year starter and with the CU kicking game pretty much in shambles under the past regime Oliver will have the opportunity to compete for playing time right away. With a reputation for a strong leg and the ability to perform under pressure Oliver could represent a significant upgrade on special teams for CU.

Marc Mustoe

HT: 6'7"
WT: 275

Offensive Tackle
Arvada West High School
Arvada, CO

Rivals: 3*
Scout: 3*
ESPN: 3*

A longtime UCLA commit, Mustoe switched his commitment to the Buffs shortly after Jon Embree was hired. He projects as a RT at the next level and has a big frame that can put on more weight. Considered a project, Mustoe is a likely a redshirt candidate and will need some time to adjust to the college level. He earned All-Colorado accolades as a senior and is ranked the #5 Colorado prep prospect by Rivals.com; he chose the Buffs over offers from a dozen other offers, including five Pac-12 schools.

Brady Daigh

HT: 6'2"
WT: 220

Linebacker
Mullen High School
Denver, CO

Class of 2011

Rivals: 3*
Scout: 3*
ESPN: 2*

Daigh joins the Buffaloes from in-state powerhouse Mullen High School. As a senior, he helped the Mustangs to a third straight state title while earning All-Colorado honors. Physical and hard-hitting, Daigh could see playing time as a true freshman on special teams and at linebacker. One of the earliest commitments of the class, Daigh chose the Buffs over offers from Colorado State, Wyoming, and North Dakota.

Gregory Henderson
Ht: 5'11"
Wt: 180 lbs

Rivals rating: 2*-5.4rr; unranked CB
Scout rating: 2*; unranked CB
ESPN rating: 1*-66 grade; #122 CB

Henderson continues the new staff's drive to to balance out our secondary depth. Despite marginal ratings from the recruiting services Henderson had an effective senior season picking off 5 balls and displaying an innate timing ability. If he can keep those instincts and develop his rumored 10.85second 100 speed into a football game speed he could be a real sleeper in this class. Right now he projects as a freshman red-shirt and a special teams contributor who will provide some depth to our secondary.

Paulay Asiata
HT: 6-5
WT: 285

Offensive Lineman
St. Louis High School
Honolulu, HI

Rivals: 3*
Scout: 4*; #14 OT
ESPN: 3*; #58 OG

Part of a notable Hawaiian contingent in the 2011 class, Asiata joins the Colorado program with high school teammate Juda Parker. Asiata long favored Washington and briefly committed to Washington shortly before signing day, but switched to the Buffs on signing day. A versatile lineman who could end up at either tackle or guard, Asiata is a likely redshirt candidate. He chose the Buffs over offers from Arizona, Cal, Oregon, Oregon State, UCLA, USC, Washington, and others.

Woodson Greer

HT: 6-2
WT: 225

Linebacker
Junipero Serra High School
Gardena, CA

Greer joins the Buffs from powerhouse Junipero Serra and projects as an outside linebacker at the college level. However, he displayed some versatility by playing inside linebacker in the California state playoffs. As a senior, he earned all-league and all-area honors. As with the other linebackers in the class, he could see immediate playing time. Greer chose the Buffs over Arizona State, Michigan, and San Jose State.

K.T. Tuumalo

HT: 6-3
WT: 210

Linebacker
Punahou High School
Honolulu, HI

Rivals: 3*
Scout: 2*
ESPN: 2*

Continuing the long-standing pipeline from Boulder to the Aloha State, Tuumalo committed to the new coaching in January after briefly being a Boise State commitment. He projects as an outside linebacker at the next level, but may eventually grow into a defensive end. It is possible he could see immediate playing time, but more than likely, Tuumalo will redshirt. Punahou is the same high school as current freshman offensive lineman Kaiwi Crabb and where the brother of linebackers coach Brian Cabral is an assistant coach. Tuumalo chose the Buffs over offers from Arizona, Arkansas, Oregon State, and others.

JudaParker_display_image.jpg

Juda Parker
HT: 6'2"
WT: 245

Defensive End
St. Louis High School
Honolulu, HI

Rivals: 3*; #28 Weakside Defensive End
Scout: 3*; #36 Defensive End
ESPN: 3*; #153 Defensive End

Parker joins the Buffs program after completing an interesting recruiting odyssey. He committed to Tennessee in August, was dropped by Tennessee in December, showcased his skills in the prestigious Army All-American Bowl in January, and then committed to the Buffs shortly before signing day. He projects as a defensive end at the next level and figures to see playing time early in his career. Parker joins _ other players from the Aloha State as part of the 2011 class and comes from the stalwart St. Louis program. Parker chose the Buffs over offers from Baylor, Oregon State, and others.

Kyle Washington
HT 6'1"
WT 195

Athlete
Florence H.S.
Florence, AZ

Rivals rating: 2*-5.4rr; unranked ATH
Scout rating: 2*; unranked WR
ESPN rating: NR WR

Kyle played in all three facets of the game for Florence High and was a stand out on Offense and Special Teams. He rushed for 13 TD's and caught 10 more while starring as a return man. At the next level he projects as a DB or slot receiver and return man. We'll likely red-shirt Kyle and see how he develops physically before figuring out exactly where to play him.

NIK_9762.jpg

Malcolm Creer
HT: 5'11"
WT: 200

Running Back
Pacific Charter High School
Pacific Palisades, CA

Rivals: 3*
Scout: 2*
ESPN: NR

Creer joins the Buffs after a big senior season that caught the attention of several schools, most notably Nebraska and Washington. Coming from a school that traditionally has not churned out top Division 1 talent, Creer initially projects as a RB at the college level, but may eventually find a home at defensive back. Ultimately, he could end up outperforming expectations more than any other prospect in the class. Creer visited CU late in the recruiting process and chose the Buffs over offers from smaller schools.

Stephan Nembot
HT: 6'7"
WT: 270

Defensive End
Montclair Prep School
Van Nuys, CA

Rivals: 3*; #51 strongside defensive end
Scout: 3*; #70 offensive tackle
ESPN: 3*; #78 defensive tackle

Nembot joins the Buffs after a whirlwind finish to his recruitment. A longtime Washington State commit, Nembot switched his pledge to Washington before signing with CU on signing day. Originally from Cameroon, Nembot is a versatile athlete who has only been playing football for a couple seasons. He projects as a lineman on either side of the ball, but likely will start his career at CU as a defensive end. Sporting both football and basketball offers, Nembot ultimately chose football with the Buffs over most of the Pac-10.

Tyler McCulloch
HT: 6'5"
WT: 195 lbs

Wide Receiver
Eldorado
Albuquerque, NM

Rivals: NR
Scout: 2*
ESPN: NR

McCulloch is probably the most unheralded and unknown recruit in the 2011 Buff recruiting class. Recent history points to that being a good sign, as players such as Will Jefferson and Terrel Smith are recent examples of unheralded players signed by CU after NSD that have ended up making significant impacts as true freshmen. McCulloch was a highly productive player in high school that dominated his conference, earning 1st Team All-State honors with 40 receptions for 570 yards and 9 touchdowns. Those milestones were achieved despite playing in only 5 1/2 games after lacerating his liver and spleen while getting sandwiched by two defenders as he made a catch. McCulloch returned from that injury and even played cornerback as he helped his team finish the season with a 9-3 record that included a win in the state playoffs. Colorado was his only scholarship offer, as both of the in-state programs only offered walk on opportunities, so McCulloch comes to CU with a bit of a chip on his shoulder.
