CSU must really be hurting. Just got a call from the COLORADO STATE ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT asking if I was interested in purchasing tickets to this game. I asked why they called me, and they said because I purchased tickets to the game two years ago.

They have to know this list is heavy with CU fans, and they don't care. They are calling us one by one to try and sell us a $20 ticket.

Ouch.

weird. they offered me $20 worth of coupons to Runza to attend. I'm like you have a Runza there? They were like I don't bro, are you intersted or what?

Try not to spit too much coffee onto your computer when you read this, but the reason that they put it at 11:00 was:

They didn't want a conflict in case they were hosting the MW Championship game that night.
Oooooooohhhhh, so close, too.

I still get emails from Wyoming and Air Force after buying tix for games there. I actually think this is standard practice. I sure as hell hope that CU does it.

in.

after 4 years living in this state, Moby is conspicuously absent from my list of "college basketball arenas attended for a hoops game" (went there for the NCAA volleyball a few years ago though).

I still get emails from the ACC schools 4 years after moving from Carolina. but to Darth's point, phone calls are a little more effort than mass emails. OTOH, student labor is cheap.

Moby is a dump. It reminds me of something out of “Hoosiers”. It’s fun to see the Buffs win there, though.
I think that at the time they were filming Mork & Mindy in Boulder, there was another crew up in Fort Collins on location at Moby for The White Shadow.

Dadgumit! I’m heading to Tucson Saturday morning. Land in Tucson at 10:30 then drive to Sierra Vista. Maybe I can stream the game on Sling from the car. This is a big game.

It is pretty standard practice amongst university athletic departments that have a ticket sales team to stay in touch with past buyers, either by email or phone, and try to keep them engaged and get them to buy more tickets. CU does this as well - I came up for the Texas State game this year and bought my tix through CU, and a week or so later got a voicemail from one of CU's ticket sales reps trying to sell me more tickets to future games...

I think the difference is when I get those emails from other schools, they are generic in selling tickets. Here it sounds like CSU is targeting CU people for the CU Games knowing they may buy the expensive seats. I have bought tickets from a bunch of different schools, and they pretty much all see if you are interested in buying more tickets, but CSU is the most annoying about it. Seems they are making a hard push to sell seats.

BTW, All the stupid talk of CSU has now made it so CSU has all the banner adds.

What's a banner ad?

Nothing says big time conference like playing your championship game at someone's home field....

I guess they did the same thing with their basketball tournament, which BTW I would be pissed if I was anyone other than UNLV.

Kinda wish the Pac-12 would go back to the championship game being hosted on campus of the better team to be honest.
Nope.

Not me. I do think, though, that if the Pac-12 ever becomes the Pac-16(or more) with the next round of re-alignment that we'll see a semi-final round to the Pac-12 football championship. If we have semis, those should be played on the higher-ranked team's campus. The championship should be an event.

I just hate Levi's Stadium. Perhaps Vegas will be better.
