Congratulations to Hayley Hughes on being named to the NSCAA All-West Region Scholar Honorable Mention Team. She is a junior from Highlands Ranch, Colorado and has a 3.92 GPA in Quantitative Finance. She was 3rd on the team in scoring with 2 goals and 3 assists.

BOULDER - University of Colorado soccer player Hayley Hughes was selected as a National Soccer Coaches Association of America 2012 Women's University Division Scholar All-West Region honorable mention.
To be eligible for selection, a player must be a junior or above in academic standing, hold a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.30 and start more than 50 percent of all games or be a significant contributor. Hughes had a standout junior season, starting all 20 games, scoring two goals and contributing three assists off 27 shots. The business major from Highlands Ranch, Colo. has also excelled in the classroom, earning a 3.92 cumulative GPA. The post-season honor is Hughes' third of the season. She was also a first-team Pac-12 Conference All-Academic and first-team Capital One CoSIDA Academic All-District VII selection. Hughes joins five other Pac-12 players named either first-team or honorable mention in the All-West Region. She is the first Buffalo to receive this honor.
