Santa Barbara, Calif. - The University of Colorado tennis team concluded a four-game road trip with a 6-1 victory over Loyola Marymount on Sunday afternoon.

The Buffs improve to 4-3 after splitting matches in Santa Barbara, Calif. The Lions slip to 3-3.

"We're really happy," CU head coach Nicole Kenneally said. "I really like the way this team keeps coming out and competing. They did a fantastic job today. They're understanding the process of how a season is and how it develops. They really came out and did a good job. We've got to compete in all nine positions. Good things happen when we do."

CU once again came out strong. Julette Steur and Erin Sanders and Winde Janssens and Carla Manzi Tenorio dropped just a combined five games to help the Buffs to the doubles point. Steur/Sanders are on a four game winning streak, while Janssens/Manzi Tenorio improve to an outstanding 7-0 record this spring.

The Buffs continued to shine in individual play. Julyette Steur, Dhany Quevedo and Mazy Watrous all glided to two-set victories. For the first time in her young career, Quevedo claimed a match without dropping a single game. Watrous' 6-1, 6-0 win over Lisa Pillar was her first victory of the 2012-13 season.

Winde Janssens continues her stellar play, beating Tory Parravi 7-6 (5), 6-4. Janssens has only lost once in dual play this spring. Erin Sanders dropped her first set against Miya Jin, but battled back for the win. Sanders is now 5-5 in three-set matches in her career, having come from behind for the win three times.

The Buffs return to the mountains next weekend. They begin on Friday, Feb. 25 against Northern Arizona. First serve is at 10 a.m. at Boulder's Millennium Hotel Harvest House. The Buffs then head to Laramie, Wyo. to take on Wyoming at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 28.
