Since S2S posted the pre-camp depth chart, I decided we may as well have a thread we can update as the season goes on and it changes. Of note is that right now anyone who wasn't on the spring roster didn't make the pre-season pencil depth chart. That will change quickly.

Why do we keep trying Frazier at DE, but he always ends up back at TE? Is he not explosively enough at DE, or are we just that bad at TE that we need him there?

I'm gonna go with starters: Edwards, Jackson, Franke, Lewis, Gamboa, McCartney, Blackmon, Julmisse, Oliver, Fisher and Laguda.

I think you have the kickers and punters switched around Nik unless we are trying something new which we might as well I guess.

Thanks. Fixed. - Nik

Gotta think Moeller sees the field more than Blackmon, but otherwise can't really disagree. That looks like it will be the likely opening day lineup.

Yeah I think that Blackmon/Moeller/Worthington are all in that spot depending what they are trying to do. Obviously Blackmon more of a cover guy and the other two more of a physical presence.

Yep. I highly doubt we sit in our "base" 3-4 for any significant portion of the season. If we are in a nickel look, then Blackmon will play. If we are in our 3-4/buff backer look, Moeller will play.

LBs look a lot better if Landman and Sparaco are ready to go (which is entirely realistic IMO). If not, there will be issues.

Look actually pretty decent if Hamilton has corrected his issues after a disappointing spring as well.

Any ideas what the issues were?

Not really. Just know from reading here and from listening to the guys paid to cover the team that he struggled. If I had to guess, I would bet he was just swimming a bit when it came to learning the new defense.

Adam's peeing on our cheerios, but the point is to take it for what it is. No newcomers who weren't here for spring are on it. Some guys like Winfree got downgraded because he didn't participate in the spring. Some guys were placed where they were (up or down) as a motivational tool.

So, tifwiw. It's our baseline depth chart as we go into fall camp.

I believe Fisher is far to talented and an impact play maker to be second team. I think Adam is giving some sound advice.

Well, to be fair, that depth chart is only listing 4 DBs, and a Buff Backer... Moeller is listed as starting at both SS and BB. They play mostly with the BB on the field, so Fisher would technically be a starter anyways.

He played on the dline 2 years ago due to depth problems on the dline. Then was moved back to his original position of HB/TE. He was originally recruited to play LB and was moved to TE/HB. I think he moves around a little based off on how the dline is progressing or looks in fall camp. If we are having issue there, or even depth problems on the dline, then he will play there.
