CU Football 2013 = CU Basketball 2010-11?

New Coach from a small conference who built a downtrodden program into a winner.
Rebuilding job accelerated by an all-world playmaking talent (P-Rich / Alec Burks).
Initial unheralded recruiting class delivers instant impact (Gillam, Awuzie / Dre).
Administration commits to facility upgrades (funding in progress for football / built that 1st year for basketball).

It's way too early to say that football is on the same path that basketball took, but the parallels are there and it opens up the real possibility that we are on our way. Don't lose faith when football has its struggles this year the way basketball did in Tad's first year when they lost at Harvard and San Francisco.

Don't forget the importance of other factors coinciding... emergence of C-unit and PAC12 conference switch for example. Consider this a challenge to the students to see that Folsom is just as rockin' and intimidating a place to play as The Can.

Another note: the last time CU rebuilt was after Chuck Fairbanks and huge financial problems nearly destroyed the program. We hired Mac1, changed leadership that started working toward building Dal Ward, and recruiting benefited from Texas & USC going into some down times.

Based on play yesterday, history my be repeating itself there. I'm sure that neither Brown nor Kiffin slept well last night.

I'm afraid it may be more like 2009-10 (minus the fact Bzdelik was coach). CU showed marked improvement that year, was highly competitive with Gonzaga and Arizona OOC, struggled in conference for a while, but finished strong and made a charge towards making the NIT (fell just short).
