Before a competition you can find Rune Oedegaard skiing by himself. It gives him the chance to focus on his techniques and what will work on each track. The tactic has proved successful because Oedegaard has won two individual NCAA championships since joining the University of Colorado ski team in 2012.

Oedegaard, a 25-year-old Norwegian, is a Nordic skier for the Buffs. This season is his last year of eligibility, as he is completing his master's program in business analytics. Later this winter he'll compete for a third NCAA individual title, and then he'll face a decision.
