CU Soccer Ties UNM, Shuts Out UNC In Spring Play

BOULDER – The University of Colorado soccer team continues its unbeaten streak in spring play, picking up wins over New Mexico and Northern Colorado here Saturday.

The Buffaloes improve to 5-0-1 in the 2014 spring season and 18-1-2 in spring play under head coach Danny Sanchez.

Colorado began the day with a 1-1 tie against New Mexico. In the teams’ first match-up since 2007, the Buffs edged the Lobos seven to six in shots, but UNM grabbed the upper-hand in shots on goal (four to three) and corner kicks (three to two). In the net, CU’s soon-to-be sophomore keeper Kenzie Tillitt grabbed three saves, while the Lobos got two stops.
