For the past several months, the Colorado volleyball staff has put limitations on Joslyn Hayes in practice.

On Tuesday, assistant trainer Marissa Holliday told Hayes, "You're full go. You're good."

Thus came the official end to what has been an emotional journey for Hayes, a 6-foot-3 sophomore hitter/blocker from Santa Monica, Calif.

"Her saying that officially, I'm like, 'OK, we're done. That's over with!' " said Hayes, who hasn't played in a match since Sept. 25 because of a stress fracture in her left fibula.

Hayes said she is hoping to play Thursday when the Buffs face rival Colorado State in a scrimmage at Coors Events Center at 6 p.m.

The good news for Hayes and the Buffs is that she can now resume the progress she was showing last fall, and she's been given ample time to do that. Hayes petitioned the NCAA to grant her a redshirt for the 2014 season and she learned a couple of weeks ago that it had been approved. Now, she's got three more years of eligibility.

WOW ... that took a L-O-N-G time to heal. She needs to stay healthy now. Welcome back Joslyn.

Glad to hear that she is now healthy and ready to contribute next season.
