CORVALLIS, Ore. – A rough final day at the 2014 Pac-12 Women’s Golf Championships kept the No. 47 University of Colorado in 11th place. Just one Buffalo had a final round in the 70s, as the team finished 63-over par 927 (301-304-322).
With the conference’s top six teams ranked in the Golfstat (4/23) top 11, and all but two teams in the in the top 50, the championship was one of CU’s most challenging tournaments of the year. The Buffs had three straight top 8 finishes entering the conference championships, but matched its season-high 72-hole scorecard to end the month of April.
“We had a bad day today, worst one of the year,” CU head coach Anne Kelly said. “It was a bit surprising because it seemed this morning everyone was determined to improve despite rainy and windy weather conditions. Not much went our way today, but golf can be like that sometimes. We are disappointed, but we can’t let a bad day or a bad tournament take away from the improvement this team has made from last year and the improvement especially this spring.”
