The Buffs will face UC Davis on Friday and No. 12/10 Stanford on Sunday.

"
BOULDER - Colorado's lacrosse team will play two road games this weekend in California, taking on UC Davis and No. 12/10 Stanford. Friday's game at UC Davis will begin at 4 p.m. PT and Sunday's game at Stanford starts at noon PT.

The Buffaloes (7-2, 2-0 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation) have won five of their past six games and their two losses this season have both come against top-10-ranked teams. CU is resuming conference action this weekend after seven straight non-conference games. The Buffs opened the year with MPSF wins against Denver and Fresno State before their non-conference break.
...
UC Davis (3-3, 1-0 MPSF) is coming off an 8-3 loss to Drexel, but earned a 19-7 win over Saint Mary's earlier this year for its only conference game. Taylor Cuenin leads the Aggies with 13 goals. UCD has been strong in the draw circle this season and is led by Shannon Geary's 22 draw controls. Lauren Ali has played every minute in goal this season and has led UCD to a 9.61 GAA.

Stanford (6-2, 1-0 MPSF) is ranked No. 12 in this week's coaches' poll and No. 10 in the media poll. The Cardinal lost to 14th-ranked Stony Brook last week, snapping a six-game winning streak. Stanford has wins against No. 8 Penn State, No. 16 Ohio State and No. 19 Johns Hopkins, while defeating Saint Mary's 20-1 in conference play. Four Cardinal players have 14 or more goals this year, led by Anna Salemo and Lucy Dikeou with 17 each. Allie DaCar is started each game in goal and has a .496 save percentage, ranking second in the MPSF in that category. The Cardinal is second in the nation in draw controls per game (15.0).

2-2 early after the Buffs started down 0-2.

Seems Buffs are pretty lucky to be tied, as it's been pretty sloppy so far, with 3 turnovers and many other near-turnovers. Davis offense looking different to me than most, with, so far, their main move being a passing weave between 3 players running back and forth behind the goal.

Still 2-2 ~1/2 way through the 1st half. TO Davis.

Davis swarming defense definitely giving the Buffs issues so far. Hopefully as the game goes on they'll be able to figure out and/ or get a feel for it so they can get some better chances than they've managed so far.

Crazy game now, as 1st Davis and now the Buffs have goals disallowed for illegal pockets on the scoring players sticks. In what might be a 1st (that I can remember), Coach Ellliot gets a yellow card after the disallowed Buffs goal- can't remember her getting one previously as the Buff's coach.

These refs in general are calling A LOT of fouls. Buffs with 3 yellows so far in the 1st half.

3-3 late in the half.

A couple BIG goals late, including one with 1 second left after a Davis penalty, give the Buffs the lead 5-3 at the half. This has the feel of being a tight finish, but hopefully the Buffs can start to solve the Davis pressure defense and get a few easy goals. Both goalies looking tough, with both having 2 more saves than goals allowed.

Buffs doing a great job, and have extended the lead to 8-3. Buffs call timeout with ~17 minutes to go.

Congrats to the Buffs on the 14-3 final! Great "blue collar" "bring the lunch pail" kind of effort by the team!

Now off to get that 1st ever win against the Trees on Sunday!

Last year, CU wasn't able to use its speed advantage. Stanford's size advantage allowed them to dominate. Big difference was Furd controlling face-offs.

Oh well, I believe Ms. Fusco becomes 1st Buff ever with a red card, and score is getting away.?.
