It's early, but Michael Adkins II is healthy, and that's a good sign for both the senior running back and the Colorado football team.

I'll believe that Adkins can stay healthy when I see him do it.

This might be a good situation for him though. Lindsay is going to start, has proven durable, and will get most of the carries.

Maybe in a more limited role Adkins can provide a solid change of pace without getting himself hurt or run down. He doesn't have the tackle breaking and line pushing ability that Lindsay has, that toughness but he does have more wiggle and an explosiveness to turn a hole into a touchdown.

I think you hit the nail on the head with that comment. I've never been an Adkins fan but he would be a far better option as the second back than Evans.

I don't think it is a toughness issue, some guy's bodies just do not stand up to the abuse of a very physical game, even if they are great athletes. A player who has not been healthy enough to contribute significantly by his sr. year, when he definitely has the ability, is not likely to discover the fountain of health his sr. year.

Adkins is a prime candidate to look great in spot duty during the OOC schedule. After that, I doubt we see much of him, unless there are injury issues with Lindsay.
