Embree-Not so fast

I'm sure you all recall that Mac tried like hell to get Bob Simmons hired before the fans (myself included) freaked out and started an all-out campaign to get Skippy hired.

I've always wondered what might have changed if we'd have let Mac get his guy in there. Bob didn't last long at Okie State.
 
I agree with you guys, I just read that article and that one quote stood out the most:
"It was never about me doing it again," McCartney told the paper. "It was about setting the table for a black man to come in [as head coach]. And [Bohn] hired one. Now, give him a chance." :wow::facepalm::doh::scared2:

This is getting worse, we need to officially hire someone already...
 
Here's Bohn's response:
"The rumors that the University of Colorado has hired our next head football coach are untrue," Bohn said in a statement released by the school Thursday. "In the interests of the young men in our program, and our fans and supporters, I want to make clear that the search committee has not yet completed its work, and we have not yet offered the job to any candidate. We are hopeful of making a head coach announcement in the coming days and beginning a new and exciting era of CU football."

What if, you know, they haven't actually finished the search and actually haven't hired anybody, or even offered anybody yet?? What if the ones who are looking like idots here are actually the people pushing the rumors that somebody has been hired, online or in the newspaper?? But since we're all assuming they're right, we just can't see it yet... :huh:
 
OK, I think the offer has been made. Bohn said they had not "hired" a new coach yet. That means they haven't signed a contract. But before they can announce, they have to do due diligence including debriefing all those they interviewed.
