To be fair, the scandal remark came straight from the article, not from the fanbase.

Well screw being fair. Every time some would-be journalist mentions the scandal, our fans wring their hands and post about it again. To quote Frozen, Let It Go, Let It Go, Let It Go.
 
One of the DP writers actually apologized a few years ago for his role in the "scandal." He actually put it on record that the news media over reacted and published inaccurate/overhyped reports when it was occurring, and the DP actually published his apology (probably an editorial oversight).

One writer did that.

The rest of them still pretend they did nothing wrong.

*I honestly don't remember who it was that apologized, I'd have to do some serious digging to find it again (funny how the DP makes something like that hard to find) - I *think* it was Terry Frei, but I wouldn't swear to that.
