Finally a well-reasoned media response to the cost-of-living stipend idea

My best friend's little sister graduated from HS in Dallas - more of her fellow grads went to OU than either UT or A&M combined. Money & the fact that you can't get in have really made OU a destination for a huge number of Dallas kids.

Dallas Metroplex has pretty much always been fertile grounds for OU. That's not only for athletics but for students as well. Your friends little sister is another example of that. OU is popular in that area.

That's why they dont complain about playing in Texas every year. A home-and-home with Texas would be the worst thing that could ever happen to OU.
 
I think the distance from Norman to Dallas is less than the distance from Dallas to Austin / Dallas to College Station.

I do not think Texas A&M is a "destination" school, in general.
