Five Big 12 players in 2011 mock first round

Nine Big 12 players were selected in the first round of last week's NFL draft.

In Todd McShay's early look at 2o11, the conference doesn't equal it's output from 2010, but still has enough talent to field a solid top of the class in 2011.

Five Big 12 players are slated to go in the admittedly much-too-early mock for next year. Five of the top six picks were from the Big 12 this year, but only one of the top 15 picks is from the conference this season.

Here's where McShay slated the top talent in the 2011 draft:

14. Arizona Cardinals: Von Miller, OLB, Texas A&M

16. Tennessee Titans: Prince Amukamara, CB, Nebraska

18. Miami Dolphins: Jeremy Beal, DE, Oklahoma

22. New England Patriots: Daniel Thomas, RB, Kansas State

29. New York Jets: Jared Crick, DT, Nebraska

McShay also runs down the top five prospects leftover on both sides of the ball and the Big 12 has a pair on that list:

Nate Solder, OT, Colorado

Curtis Brown, CB, Texas

Defense anyone? Could be a nice indicator of a bigger percentage of 10-7 games this season than 45-35 games.
