Former Buff football great Tom Brookshier passes

Growing up in central New Jersey and being an avid "Iggles" fan in the early 1960's, I remember him, even though he had to leave the game due to injury before I was fully engaged with the team. He was on the Eagles' only NFL championship team in 1960 (beat Vince Lombardi and the Packers just as they were beginning their rise to dominance). He then became a local sports reporter in Philly, and was eventually paired with Pat Summerall as the color man on CBS's "A" announcing team for NFL games for several years.

What I didn't know (or possibly just forgot) was that he was a Buff.

My dad used to talk about Brookshier when I was a kid. Otherwise I would have never known much about him. RIP Tom.

RIP Brookie..... another Eagles and Buffaloes connection!

Grew up watching his broadcasts. Never knew he was a Buffalo. Great read. RIP Tom
