Games thread- MEN'S BBall hits the road to face Cincinnati (Wed., 1/14/26, 5:00 PM MT; Peacock) & West Virginia (Sat., 4:00 PM MT, CBS Sports Network)

Team has almost no toughness.

Need to bring in Dre and Tyler Bey to teach these guys that having a slight frame is no excuse to be poor rebounders.
Yeah, year after year outside of 1-2 players were nothing but soft lil biyotches. It’s getting tiresome.

What I can't figure out is this offensive funk they've been in after being so good on that end the first third of the season.

9-9, 3rd from the bottom of the Big East Providence?

Woot

My point was not that we beat a great team, but that our offense isn't clicking like it was the first 1/3 of the season and that it's not just that we were playing doormat teams that we overwhelmed on talent.

But if you guys think that the offense hasn't regressed in recent weeks, you're welcome to that opinion.

I don't think the offense has, I think Malone has.
17 pts vs. Providence
2 pts. vs WV. 2 pts. vs. Cinci

Good thing Tad still rolls his tubby ass out there for at least 16 per game. Dude is averaging 3.9 pt / game in conference.

Hard to play 5 out (or any other offense) when you only have 4 useful players on the court.

Maybe that's the main problem. I think this offense relies on the ability to play inside-out and with Malone's sucking there isn't a post-up game. That's probably normal screws up our floor spacing and reduces the open 3s & drives off defenses rotating from kick outs. Probably why Tad keeps trying to force things with Malone.

FWIW, I'm more than ready to move on from him and try to run Malone's post up offensive sets through Michaeli.

P.S. I think setting the tone to start the game and the 2nd half by feeding the post is a very good thing. Tried and true going back to the dynasty Bulls who did that with Cartwright and later Longley. It works. But you better have a C who isn't a complete train wreck.

I still don't see why we don't at least run Tacko more - he can't possibly be worse, and forcing Alon / BD into playing a 5 role just won't work.
