BOULDER- Volleyball’s Alexis Austin and football’s Addison Gillam, were awarded with CU Athlete of the Week honor’s for their play during the week of August 26-September 1.

Austin led the Buffs to a 1-1 record to start the season against St. Mary’s (Calif.) at the Omni Hotels Colorado Volleyball Classic. She recorded 11 kills on Friday night and then hammered a team high 13 on Saturday night. Austin averaged 3.00 kills per set and hit .194 in the two matches. She also recorded seven digs and five blocks assists on the weekend. The Buffs dropped the first match on Friday night, 1-3, but came back Saturday night to take the Gaels 3-1. St. Mary’s was receiving votes in the AVCA Coaches Preseason Poll.
