ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The University of Colorado men’s golf team had an uncharacteristic off day here Friday, as after two rounds, the Buffaloes find themselves in eighth place in the 60th Annual William H. Tucker Invitational.
Host and No. 33 New Mexico is running away from the field after 36 holes, as the Lobos recorded a pair of 11-under par 277 team rounds for a score of 554. San Diego State is currently a distant second, despite a solid 7-under team score of 569; No. 16 Texas Tech is the only other school under par, in third at 5-under 571. New Mexico State (581) and UNLV (586) round out the top five.
Colorado opened with a 5-over 293 but was one of six schools in the second round that couldn’t crack the 300-barrier, shooting exactly that for a 593 total.
