BOULDER — The University of Colorado men’s golf team will open the 2014-15 season this weekend as the Buffaloes will be one of 15 teams competing in the 46th Annual Gene Miranda-Falcon Invitational just down Interstate 25 at the U.S. Air Force Academy.
The tournament commences Saturday with two rounds, the first of which gets underway with an 8:15 a.m. shotgun start; the final round is Sunday with a 7:30 start.
Colorado head coach Roy Edwards is looking forward his ninth season as coach of the Buffaloes, and he has six talented lettermen returning from the 2013-14 team that posted a school-record eight top five finishes. Included in those was a fourth place showing in the Pac-12 Championships, an event in which CU posted the second best score in the field over the last 36 holes. The Buffs went on to earn a second straight invitation to the NCAA Championship regionals and finished the season ranked No. 52 in the nation.
