Watching some stuff on youtube I came across the highlight video of the 1996 CU/Michigan game. I knew we had a chance at another hail marry at the end, but I didn't realize how close we were to repeating history. The tipped ball is just out of reach. That would have been something!:wow:

Michigan won the title in '97 and CU had a 10 win season and talent from Mac. Fun highlights even though we lost.

What happened that Colorado missed an extra point?

I remember Tai Streets killing us that year...

I don't know. We must have missed or something. Some names in that video too, Charles Woodson, Brian Griese.

i remember the lightening strike that came about 3 or 5 minutes prior to that play. everyone got a good chuckle about that because at that time it appeared that the game could very well end with a HM.

I remember the 20 penalties on us. That game just killed me. I remember we had 5 penalties on one drive that kept nullifying huge plays, including a fly pattern to kidd. I remember a lat hit on the qb giving michigan new life on one drive, and Che Foster DID NOT HAVE THE FREAKIN BALL WHEN HE CROSSED THE GOAL LINE!!!!

That game and the koy detmer pass hitting grant wistrom in the helmet and getting returned for a td cost us a chance at the title that year. I'm still dealing with the rage.

Our two TD's were Henry's run and Savoy's catch over Woodson. Savoy's catch is right after Michigan's first TD in the highlights.

I love to have that defense back. Some good names out there, and they were hitting pretty hard.

It didn't look like Woodson had the ball on that INT long enough to be in possession, either.

Those highlights are annoying, mostly just UM vids

I know that, it was from a UM fan. My point was how close we were to repeating history. Plus, that defense was nice to see again, fast and aggresive even on Michigan's good plays.

Makes sense then... it would have been awesome if we beat them on the hail mary a second time

Michigan did not win the National Title this particular season (the near-repeat Hail Mary). They did so the following year when they killed us in Ann Arbor 27-3.

I remember that game well. I don't think Michigan had a "big" play the entire game, but they had about 175 plays where they gained 8-12 yards. Fukcers :sad2:

And yes that INT was BS. The TD looks legit from what I can see.

I remember it DUMPED rain at the end of that game. I was sitting about 50ft from the endzone on that last pass attempt. It was sooooo close. :sad1:
