SEATTLE — With NCAA Championship berths on the line at the MPSF Indoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday, Jake Hurysz and Joe Bosshard put everything on the table in the 3,000-meter run and finished with two of the fastest times in the NCAA this season.

Hurysz finished the race second overall in 7 minutes, 50.50 seconds, improving on his personal record of 7:59.89 that he set just two weeks ago on the same track at the Husky Classic. The time currently ranks third in the NCAA. His PR also launched him from 10[SUP]th[/SUP] on CU’s all-time performers list, to second all-time behind Olympian Adam Goucher (7:46.03).

Bosshard was a very close fourth in the race, finishing just .36 seconds behind Hurysz. Bosshard’s time of 7:50.86 is currently fifth in the NCAA and will advance him to nationals. Prior to this 3k race, his personal best had been 8:09.22, which he ran in 2011 at the Big 12 Championships for a fourth-place finish. His new time ranks third all-time for the Buffs behind Goucher and Hurysz.
