First-year player and junior college transfer Quinn Mecham was forced into action against Iowa State two weeks ago when injuries sidelined the quarterbacks ahead of him on the depth chart, Kale Pick and Jordan Webb.

But in his second career start, Mecham ended the Jayhawks 11-game losing streak in conference play.

Mecham was 23-of-28 for 252 yards with a pair of touchdowns, including a 38-yard score to Johnathan Wilson as part of Kansas' 35-point spurt in the fourth quarter that keyed a late comeback win over Colorado.

Mecham is 45-of-62 for 401 yards, three touchdowns and three interceptions on the year.
