Tonight is lacrosse's "Selection Sunday" in front of NCAA lacrosse's "May Madness"!
From what I can find, sounds like the Buffs have a very good chance at getting selected***; we will see this evening. (I may not be able to watch it, so of course anyone who hears news on their selection, who they might be playing, etc., is welcome to post it here.)
(Note- after the selection show, if the Buffs are selected, I will probably turn this into the round one game thread.)
As I believe I've noted other places, NCAA women's lacrosse holds a 26 team tournament. The top 8 seeded teams host the 1st 2 rounds, and the top 6 teams get byes. Per https://www.landof10.com/big-ten/20...urnament-dates-schedule-projected-teams-may-4 , looks like all 1st round games will be played next Friday (5/11), and all 2nd rounds Sunday (5/13).
Here's laxpower.com's NCAA selection description- http://www.laxpower.com/update18/binwom/ncaa_d1.php . (It doesn't show the Pac 12 in its 13 auto-qualifying conferences, but still shows the MPSF, so assume the NUMBER of auto-qualifiers is still hopefully accurate.)
***So, looks like there are 13 at-large selections. As noted above, the INDICATIONS are the Buffs should be safely in-

Live stream - Links I can find "to the stream" so far just go the main NCAA home page (https://www.ncaa.com/), which will hopefully provide a link come selection show time (note- looks like the men's field selection show is right before the women's) . If not easily found there, a link, or the video itself, will hopefully also appear in the article page previewing the selection show - https://www.ncaa.com/news/lacrosse-...crosse-selection-show-set-sunday-may-6-930-pm .

- USlacrosse Bracketology dated May 2nd - https://www.uslaxmagazine.com/college/women/bracketology-bad-losses-vs-good-wins-on-the-bubble . (Note- looks like some conferences hadn't finished their tournaments when this was written.) They guess the Buffs may end up in Gainesville facing auto-qualifier Jacksonville in the 1st round, with the winner facing #6 seed (their guess) Florida in the 2nd round. Per this, the Buffs #11 RPI is the 5th best of the non auto-qualifying teams. (Of secondary interest (if that), in some earlier brackeltoogies I saw, neither fellow-Pac member USC or local school DU were thought to be getting into the tournament, but this DOES guess both get in now. And, this is before DU evidently got a nice conference semi-final win over Georgetown. Both are in the "Last 4 in" list however, so I'm sure will be nervous heading up to this evening.)
- Insidelacrosse bracketology (also dated May 2) - http://www.insidelacrosse.com/artic...rneys-how-ncaa-field-is-shaping-up-more/52128 . They also have the Buffs in - "--Safe in the NCAA Field: Stanford, Colorado
Stanford has the AQ and Colorado is a shoe-in for an at-large. Both are top-12 in the RPI but not in the top-8, very likely they are traveling in the first round. Both will be a tough out: Stanford has lost just once since March 10th and Colorado just got its first loss since March 29th."
