WALNUT CREEK, Calif. — University of Colorado senior middle blocker Nikki Lindow has been named the Pac-12 Conference Defensive Player of the Week after helping the Buffs knock off No. 11 UCLA on Friday night in a thrilling five-set win (27-29, 25-15, 24-26, 25-23, 15-12) at the Coors Events Center.

Lindow helped CU to its first win over a ranked opponent since 2008 with 14 kills and 12 blocks. Her 12 blocks tied the fourth most in CU single-match history and she was just one kill shy of her career-high (15). Lindow also hit .464 with one error on 28 swings, picked up four digs and recorded a team-best 20.0 points in the match.

The Buffs were 1-1 in the first week of Pac-12 play as they fell to Utah on Tuesday, Sept. 24 in Salt Lake City, another five-set match. In the loss, Lindow had nine kills and six blocks for 13.0 points. She averaged 2.30 kills per set, 1.80 blocks per set and 3.30 points per set in the two matches.
