PORTLAND – Former University of Colorado women’s soccer standout Nikki Marshall has been called-up to the United States Women’s National Team for the first time in her career, U.S. Soccer announced Wednesday.

Marshall, her Portland Thorns FC teammate Allie Long, and the U.S. Women’s National Team will meet the Canada Women’s National Team for an international friendly in Winnipeg on May 8.

Marshall, a native of Mead, Colo., and a 2010 graduate of Colorado, has previously represented the United States at the U-20 and U-23 levels. Those stints included Woman of the Match honors as she helped the U.S. U-20 Women’s National Team win the 2008 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup with a 2-1 victory over North Korea in Chile.
