USAFA, Colo. — The University of Colorado men’s golf team opened the 2014-15 season here Saturday and more or less picked up where it left off last spring, contending for tournament honors as the Buffaloes ended the day in second place after two rounds of the 46th Annual Gene Miranda Air Force Falcon Invitational.
CU set a school record with eight top five finishes last year, and after 36 holes, the Buffaloes are in with a 568 team score (8-under par); UNLV leads the 15-team field at present, as the Rebels turned in a 21-under score of 576. Colorado State (575) and Missouri-Kansas City and New Mexico State (577) round out the top five.
