NEW ORLEANS – The University of Colorado men’s cross country team remained the unanimous No. 1 team in the country according to the USTFCCCA Coaches Poll which was released Tuesday afternoon.
The men recorded all 12 first-place votes for 360 points and are 20 points in front of Northern Arizona, which garnered 340 points for second. Pac-12 foe Oregon is third with 336 points and former Big 12 rival Oklahoma State is ranked fourth (321). Stanford, another Pac-12 opponent, rounds out the top five with 309 points.
The women’s team moved up one spot from the preseason poll to seventh this week with 281 points, overtaking Arkansas by one point (280). Michigan remained the top team in the poll with eight first-place votes for 356 points. Oregon is second (337) with a pair of first-place votes and Michigan State is currently third with 328 points and one first-place nod. Stanford (322) and Georgetown (308) round out the top five, respectively.
