Miami's rivals site is reporting that Shannon has been fired/announcement tomorrow

This one is good.

Texas stayed close only because Miami hampered its own progress with penalties – mostly late hits or unsportsmanlike-conduct calls. After receiving their first punt, the Hurricanes pushed a Texas player out of bounds and were penalized 15 yards. Then they were backed up 15 more for complaining about the call on the sideline.

Heard another tidbit on the radio. Apparently the high cost of living in/around Miami makes it more difficult for the U to get assistant coaches. Not sure if true, but seems reasonable.

Coral Gables, South Miami, Pinecrest, and Coconut Grove are all expensive if you want a spacial abode. If your looking for something small than there are affordable homes. But Im talking Condominiums for $250k.

Soooo, it's like Boulder?

Pretty much. The major employment centers are downtown Coral Gables and downtown Miami. The further west you live from those places the longer you sit in bumper to bumper traffic trying to make your way east in the morning. Miami has no express ways or interstates that run east west and serve the employment centers effectively.

That being said the further west you go the cheaper it gets. Additionally, the city is now up against the everglades directly west so that means new 0building has to occur further and further south towards Homestead and The Keys. This further clogs up US1, the only major artery that runs from the SW to the NE where Coral Gables and Downtown are.

Oooopsie.

Athletic director Tom Osborne told the Lincoln Journal Star that he has not given Pelini permission to speak to Miami about the job, and Pelini says he didn't seek permission to interview for another job. Pelini wouldn't otherwise comment publicly on the report.

Pelini's Cornhuskers (No. 18 BCS, No. 17 AP) are 10-3 heading into the Dec. 30 Bridgepoint Education Holiday Bowl game against Washington (6-6).

Miami fired Randy Shannon last month after a 7-5 season. The Miami Herald, citing a University of Miami source it did not identify, reported Thursday that school officials planned to talk to the third-year Nebraska coach.

Pelini and Nebraska football officials didn't immediately return messages left Thursday. A secretary for Osborne said he had told her to tell callers: "There's nothing to comment on."

Tough call:
South Beach or Haymarket?
Mojitos or tomato beer?
High grade blow or home made meth?
Swamp or feed lot?
Sun or snow?

It's a tough, tough call.

I said this in the other thread, but I seriously doubt Miami can afford Pelini. If offered a contract, Nebraska will double it just to keep him around.

Still, maybe his act is growing thin in Lincoln. His temper has gotten him in trouble more than once there. Maybe Dr. Tom would like to see him go, and take his brother with him.
