Why not?

I have this sneaking suspicion that we are desperate for a big man. I read something in the paper a few days ago that he decided between playing CU football and Ivy league basketball. This will keep him in shape until the draft. No bowl game. Maybe he can block shots and rebound.

good point...

Looking out for Nate's best interest, there's the small issue of risking injury ahead of the NFL draft.

I was actually wondering about this with Devaughn Thornton...

there's a more reasonable suggestion.

Nate Solder is going to be a first round pick. The guy ain't going to risk that to play basketball. Julius Peppers (used to be a player on UNC basketball team) didn't play his redshirt junior year for the Heels either.

I know we need help on basketball, but CU needs to have some high picks in the NFL draft so high school kids can start thinking of CU as a stepping stone in the pros again. Hopefully both Jimmy and Nate go in the 1st.
