Really liked it. Much better animations and the grass looks fantastic.
Did the fix the defense? The running game?
yes and yes
Looks like they have thus far.
How about the super linebackers that seemed to jump 30 feet in the air for a pick 6?
Haven't had any issues with that through 2 games.
Stupid Herbstreit yelling at me for running up the score. I don't want to kneel with 2 minute quarters.
The demo kind of sucks but watching the videos has me pumped. I love the coaching carousel thing.
gameplay is marginally better. haven't gotten to try things with a FB quite yet, but the animations do help, and some of the cheap plays (4 verticla, anyone?) that were nigh undefensible in the last game are now not effective against the right coverage. Also, zone is no longer a total waste :woot:
If anyone wants to pick up a copy early Gameforce at Iliff and Chambers is selling it early.
There needs to be some competition for EA in the football realm. They never fix the lingering issues that plague the game.
very true. It's what makes soccer videogames that much better. EA's FIFA 11 has to go up against Pro Evolution Soccer. Each year those two battle it out and the winner ends up being the consumer. I love it!
EA's NHL game is very good, and it has to compete against 2k
Not sure if those can be truly compared. NBA 2k didn´t have any competition last year and it´s just about the best sports game I´ve ever played.
The licensing deal btw the NFL and EA doesn´t help and I do believe it´s true for football, but FIFA, for example, has always out sold PES as they had the license, but has only made some strides game play wise in the past 2-3 years. Seabass and Konami really haven´t figured out the current generation of consoles.
I don´t believe it´s as simple as competiton / no competition although competition never hurts.
True - a bigger issue in my opinion is the 1 year development cycles the games are forced into. There isn't enough time for innovation, balancing, and bug crushing. I would prefer that they release a game once every two years, and then provide roster updates in the off year. But, there isn't as much money to be earned by doing that.
What are the lingering issues?
That better be in the game still. How else am I supposed to play defense?
