What an awesome time to be doing an upgrade. Going Intel this time because AMD is sucking ass in the CPU department. It was one hell of a choice between Sandy Bridge, Ivy Bridge-E, or Haswell. I was hearing some people complaining about Haswell because they don't overclock as well as Sandy Bridge or Ivy Bridge. I almost pulled the trigger but in the end I felt the Z77 chipset was starting to show it's age. I went with the Haswell i7-4770K. From what I am reading it has insane single thread performance. Motherboard choices were so many and so good I just went with the one that I thought looked the coolest. Yeah I picked on looks... Memory is insanely cheap these days. 16GB (4 x 4GB) DDR3 DDR3 2133 for 160 bucks?!?! Going to be trying out a closed loop watercooler for the first time too. CORSAIR H100i I have AMD 7950 video card which is still doing a good job so I figured I wouldn't upgrade. They have actually dropped to around the 200 price point. I might just buy another and crossfire them. I ran a bunch of benchmarks on current computer and can't wait to benchmark new parts when they come. I will be ready for Battlefield 4 come Tuesday!
