For those of you who like podcaster Dan Carlin (a proud CU Alum), the guys at the Solid Verbal Podcast just dropped a long-form interview with him.

Even if you are not a fan of Dan Carlin, it will be a fascinating listen.

A couple of interesting tidbits:

Dan is an avid follower of message boards (he has said this in interviews before). I am convinced that it is a member of this site and 247 (I can't imagine he would go to Netbuffs). I would love to know his handle.

While watching games on TV he follows the discussion on the message boards and even pulls up the message boards of the other team to see what they are saying. I bet that lots of people on this board and AB will think "he's describing me" when they hear it.

He shares a very heartwarming anecdote about CU fans after the victory at Oregon in 2016. I'm not going to describe it, you should listen to it.

He gives a great analysis on the whole conference re-alignment situation.

Do yourself a favor--listen to it.

Love Dan Carlin. Highly recommend Mike Duncan’s podcasts as well.

If you’re more of a business historian, Acquired does a great job

I’ll stan those podcasts all day

The Oregon game comment definitely resonated. Remember watching it by myself at my house, but my wife and a couple of her friends were there. When Spoon had the pick in the endzone to end it, I jumped up from my couch and screamed and was visibly emotional. Wife and her friends couldn’t comprehend what the big deal was, and I honestly don’t think any non-long time CU fan can appreciate what that meant

Same, but I was waiting for our stellar head coach to mismanage the clock and blow it at the end.

I was at a Buffalo Wild Wings in Dayton, OH(went to the Michigan game the week before and drove down after to visit family)and just about lost my mind in the middle of a bunch of Buckeye fans.

Nearly got in a fight at a wedding watching that Oregon game when I was told i shouldn't be watching that oregon game. ****ing texas fans.
My Dad got remarried on the night of the Texas vs CU Big 12 championship 2001. I brought my little portable 4" TV so I could watch it.

Guest: I can't believe you are watching that during your dad's wedding.

Me: he's the one who told me to bring it. He doesn't give ****! That's the least he could do for setting his wedding on this night.

This was a great listen. Thanks for posting. I really liked his thoughts on college teams playing in professional stadiums because of the high demand.

That was the game BOBO had 2 amazing TD catches: 1 was called back that looked good to me... the second was a reversal of the ref because they determined that he caught the ball 1 handed. Both were amazing.
