Pretty significant graphical upgrade but I'm going to see if there is a higher frame rates especially given that A Link Across Worlds for the 3DS has 60 fps while I don't think A Link To The Past had that high of a frame rate. I'd love to see the other two GameBoy Color Zelda games remade as well.

I’m still obsessed with splatoon 2. Hyrule Warriors is not especially interesting unfortunately, and I love dynasty warriors back in the day. My friend is a huge fan so I’ll keep playing to see if something changes, but it’s mostly unskilled button smashing

Mario 2 does not hold up.

Switch needs some RC Pro Am. Stat.

I second what @wsp4820 says about SMB2...that game doesn't feel like the SMB2 on the NES... feels too smooth.

I had not heard about that Bloodstained game prior to your post but I *want* that.

Bloodstained is being made by the same person who directed Castlevania SoTN...high expectations there.

After playing the Daemon X Machina demo, I'm not quite sure I want that game but strangely, I'm interested in Yoshi's Crafted World.

Been playing Marvel vs Capcom Infinite and that just stokes the fires for Ultimate Marvel Alliance 3. Team Ninja had made the likes of Dynasty Warriors, Dragon Quest Heroes, Hyrule Warriors, and Fire Emblem Heroes. Now you have a Dynasty Warriors esque game with Marvel properties. That's why I think Nintendo truly scored a coup with that exclusive contract.

My wife is the best wife. I was gone snowboarding so she bought a switch. Working our way through super mario bros deluxe right now. Odyssey, Smash, and Zelda are on tap. getting a charging dock and a pro controller. Also a screen protector and a carrying case. I need this thing to last (and entertain a toddler). Questions:

    1) Should we bite the bullet and get a 2d set of joycons?
    2) what am I missing?

The pro controller is much better than the joy cons, and I think you end up using it much more than the handheld format.

Splatoon 2. Sooo entertaining once you get the hang of it.

How often do you think you’ll be using the Switch with more than 2 persons?

Second pro controller makes more sense than another set of joy cons IMO. If you’re playing Smash or Mario Kart against each other the person with the joy con would be at some disadvantage IMO.

About 6 months after World of Warcraft launched, I got my wife in to it somehow. She LOVED playing her night elf rogue while I would play whatever role was needed at the moment with my druid. We even went nuts and bought two new laptops so we could play together in the same room. Playing time was after our not yet toddler was asleep.

It took better part of a year, but she got to level 58 (the cap at the time was 60) and quit cold turkey. Somehow, the idea of "beating" a game of that magnitude was not something she wanted on her accomplishment list. About a year after that, she had our second daughter and that was it - I couldn't even get her think about playing another video game.

TL;DR version - enjoy it now while you can!

Seconded. Thank God for no propriety memory cards like the Vita had!

128GB micro SD cards are cheap these days.

What is the max size card the Switch will accept and what is the typical game size?

This would be more convenient than cartridges, but my kids are more likely to lose extra storage cards than cartridges. Would need to be one massive card that never gets removed.

    I don't think there's a limit. We have a 256GB card in ours.

Got a memory card. Two funny anecdotes:

    1) Lady Snow goes: "I bought a switch." Me: "Awesome, which games did you buy?" Her: "Wait, it doesn't come with a game?" Me: "you are now, officially, a mom." Her: "Holy ****, it really doesn't come with a ****ing game!."

    2) Last night, lady snow would not let me take turns to play Mario. WTF?

I believe 2 TB is the max size for the micro SD cards for the Switch. Biggest ones online that match the 100MB/s read speed as recommended by Nintendo would be the 400GB ones as far as I know.

For as massive of a game as BoTW is, it registers as 14.3 GB of memory for the SD card. NBA 2K19 is the largest Switch game at 31.5 GB.

There are games that are run on the internal 32GB system memory on my Switch and it still has 12.5GB of space available. The 128GB micro SD card currently has 55.9GB remaining space despite having BoTW and SSBU (14.2GB). Those two plus other games that require 1GB of memory or more on my Switch are as follows:

    Mario Kart 8 Deluxe: 6.8GB
    Super Mario Odyssey: 5.5GB
    Hollow Knight 5.2GB
SF 30th Annivesary: 5.0GB (not bad for 12 different SF games)
    Monopoly: 3.6GB
Mega Man X Legacy Collection: 2.9GB
    Arena of Valor: 2.9GB
    Mario+Rabbids Kingdom Battle: 2.8GB
New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe: 2.5GB
    Mega Man 11: 2.1GB
    Guacamelee 2: 2.1GB
Daemon X Machina Protype Missions: 2.1GB

    Notable games:

    Doom 13.4GB
    Wolfestein 2: 21.8GB
    Skyrim: 14.3GB
    Xenoblade Chronicles 2: 13GB

If I got at least three of those 12-13GB games, I'd have to look for a new micro SD card. I think I'm good until next year. I don't think Ultimate Marvel Alliance 3 (UMA3) will even hit 15GB and the Doom Eternal game that is on its way probably will be about 15-20GB.

I'm probably 50% done with BOTW.

Great game. Map is enormous. I've mostly been wandering around and holding off on the main quest stuff.

Still 3 divine beasts to beat and need to get the Master Sword. Then off to fight Ganon

I beat it pretty recently. Fun game, but being 35 with a 3 year old and 9 month old along with the better half, I had to streamline my play to the minimum amount needed to get the master sword and the divine beasts and ol pal Ganon.

Yes I wanted to play both games but couldn't afford them when I was a kid. Now I finally get the chance!

I dominated that game. Kid Icarus and the original Final Fantasy were my favorite games.
