BOULDER - Nordic skier Rune Oedegaard and women's basketball forward Jamee Swan were awarded CU Athlete of the Week on Wednesday for their athletic accomplishments the week of Feb. 17-23.

Oedegaard, a junior from Molde, Norway (NTG Lillehammer/Molde Ski Club), won his third race of the season and the 12th of his career at the 65th Annual RMISA Championships over the weekend in Beaver Creek, Colo. Taking first in the men’s 20K freestyle race with a time of 45:06.8, Oedegaard is now just one victory shy of tying the CU record for career race wins. He now has eight wins in classical races, which ranks most among men’s skiers in CU history, second only to Maria Grevsgaard who had 15 classical wins between 2006-08.

Swan, a sophomore from Marana, Ariz. (Marana), had a team-high 18 points, 7 rebounds and a career-high 6 steals in Colorado’s comeback win over Arizona in Tucson on Sunday. A short jumper by Swan with 0.9 seconds left in regulation sent the game into overtime, in which the Buffs were able to erase a 20-point first half deficit to get the 61-56 Pac-12 Conference win at the McKale Center. Swan was a perfect 4-of-4 from the line, while shooting 7-of-16 from the field.
