Oh ****! Don't look now, but Baylor may be our best friend to keep UT out of the Pac

I think Baylor already waived their right. Last ditch effort on their part will not end well for Baylor. Found this on the A&M site

Dear Mike:

This is to confirm our discussion yesterday during which I informed you that the Big 12
Conference Board of Directors unanimously authorized me to convey to you and their colleagues
in the Southeastern Conference that the Big 12 and its members will not take any legal action for
any possible claims against the SEC or its members relating to the departure of Texas A&M
University from the Big 12 and the admission of Texas A&M into the SEC; provided, however,
that such act by the SEC to admit Texas A&M is publicly confirmed by 5:00 p.m. (CDT) on
September 8, 2011.
Such admission of Texas A&M will result in the withdrawal of Texas A&M from the Big 12
Conference effective June 30, 2012. We both agreed it is in the best interests of each of our
conferences and our member institutions of higher education to waive any and all legal actions
by either conference and its members resulting from admission of Texas A&M into the SEC, as
long as such admission is confirmed publicly by September 8, 2011.
If any of your presidents and chancellors have concerns about this commitment of the Big 12
Conference, they may contact me or Brady Deaton, Big 12 Board of Director chairman and
chancellor of the University of Missouri, Columbia.

Sincerely,

Dan Beebe

Commissioner

Hmm, who knows if this is even legit?

I think it's legit. Way too many big words spelled and used correctly for it to have been created by Aggy....

[conspiracy mode]Maybe the SEC didn´t really want the Aggies and put this provision in fully well knowing some B12 schools would make a scene and try to stop the Aggies from leaving to save the Big 12? Maybe Aggie got played by the SEC and the SEC found a way to make someone else look like the culprit in the public eye?[/conspiracy mode]

Also, why is this **** going on DURING the season this year? Couldn´t they handle it from February to August when there´s usually **** all to talk about?

if we were in the Big 12 still what stance would we be taking?

I love the cyclowns...texas has dominion over bu but they don't got **** on iowa st

I wonder (still) if anybody at UT has figured out that they are the root cause of all this drama.

My predicted end result: No movement until 2014/15. Then Big 12 dies.

I am starting to believe you are right. I think the SEC walks away from Aggie and the dust settles until more TV contracts come due. As far as I am concerned, Bailor can beat its chest all it wants saying it stopped this mess and they are now relevant as long as Uterus stays out of the PAC.

Most of the speculation is that there is no bark to the bite and that aTm will be leaving to the SEC. This play was not so much directed at aTm as it was at Oklahoma to get them to give assurances that they're not leaving. They can hold the conference together by bringing in a decent program as long as they still have OU and UT.

This. A&M to the SEC is all but a done deal. The biggest question now is who becomes the SEC's 14th, and probably 15th and 16th teams.
