Other games this week 9/13-9/14

He definitely took a knee. He took it with about 16 seconds left. He even put the ball down to help the officials out. It shouldn't take 16 seconds to spot the ball.

How is that "shameful"? Are you really going to blame ASU's defenders for thinking it was a fumble. Blame the refs all you want. If the players thought it was a fumble and jumped on it, that's a smart play.

You can use the fumble excuse all you want, but there's no need to lay on top of a ball with no one challenging you for 10 seconds. Delay of game on the defense.

I don't blame the ASU player for jumping on the ball - they're used to holding on to it until the refs tell them to give it up.

This is on the refs.

But that's on the refs not the player. They either should've stopped the clock or called delay of game. I can't blame the player for wasting every second he can in that situation.

I totally agree the refs are most culpable. The comment was made in the frustration of the moment, posted literally as it happened. I still think he could have gotten his ass up sooner, it's not like it was a dogpile (it was just him and the ball), but it's on the ref to throw the flag or get him up, among other errors made.

WTF was with Bielema's wife tweeting #karma after the game, anyway?

Wasn't it her husband that left Wisconsin hanging?

It's a fumble, neither his knee or elbow was down. The refs were idiots for not signalling a fumble and incorrectly called the play a kneel down.

Lets pretend everything Stave did was correct (I don't think so...but let's pretend) - the friggin Wiscy players don't even attempt to line up until their are 3 seconds on the clock at which point they CANNOT spike the ball because of the new rule. So no matter what, Wisconsin screwed themselves, not some sort officiating malfunction/ASU delay of game crap (I considered that a fumble as well).

They didn't line up because there was an ASU player on the ball, and the referee hadn't even spotted the ball yet.
