****Pac-12 Will NOT expand*** per espn and wilner

OU Prez makes a statement:

"We were not surprised by the Pac 12's decision to not expand at this time. Even though we had decided not to apply for membership this year, we have developed a positive relationship with the leadership of the conference and we have kept them informed of the progress we've been making to gain agreement from the Big 12 for changes which will make the conference more stable in the future. Conference stability has been our first goal and we look forward to achieving that goal through continued membership in the Big 12 Conference."​

BYU, WVU and Louisville are definitely their three best (seemingly somewhat realistic) options, but that would be one weird ass league stretching from Morgantown, WV to Provo, UT

Texas wasn't willing to give up its interests, Pac 12 be damned.

If the Pac 12 wanted to tell Texas to "F off" then why didn't they extend invitations to Tech, OU and OSU and force Texas's hand?

Texas is the prize bull (horrible pun) and won't be forced into an arrangement that they don't like.

We may come off as arrogant (and we are), but we have reason to drive a hard bargain.

Texas said "no" to the Pac 12 as much as the Pac 12 said "no" to the LHN.

So what does this say about OU and OSU?

I thought OU held all of the cards and was dictating terms to Texas?

Funny,the standings I saw at the end of the most recent season had Texas as THE cellar-dweller of their division, something that CU never managed under Hawkins. Gotta love the Oregon bandwagoners sucking off Texas fans over there as well, Oregon knows a thing or two about being a cellar-dweller throughout most of their history, the nouveau riche dirtbags.

Conference re-allignment has been ****ing great for CU! Long live the Pac-12 South!

Best thing that can happen now is that B12 picks up 3 more schools so they can stay together. Hopefully this ends the dominoes falling and puts some stability back into college football, not to mention keeps some tradition and regional rivalries strong. In a perfect world, they pick up TCU, Houston and SMU which keep the conference respectable and regional. That should also give birth to some new rivalries that will hopefully give the conference some sticking power for the long term too.

I, for one, am hoping Texas A&M still leaves for the SEC - and I hope the Big 12 gets stuck bringing in Houston, Rice, and SMU to fill the void.
 
I'm glad the Pac 12 expansion talks are over and done.

That means no more drama coming out of Austin, right?
 
Funny. An OSU grad that I know was telling me that 'although he preferred that the Big 12 stay together', he was okay with the Pac-16 'because it offered the path of least resistance'. Apparently beating SMU-Rice-Houston was going to be too tough for him. Good riddance to all those arrogant Big 12 south cocksuckers.
 
I was skeptical, but once I saw the official PAC-12 statement, all I could do was smile.
