Pete Thomas...

Smart move. He knew he wasn't going to get the votes necessary at CSU. With the increased love from the SEC media he's now a multiple Heisman lock.

Now Vandy can schedule a few NFL teams in the non conference if they can get the NCAA to allow it.

What a pussy and quitter. The dude didn't even give the new coaching staff a chance to evaluate him. Either that, or he is a genius by escaping that dump of a program.

We already know that Alabama isn't bashful about "encouraging" players to leave if they don't fit the plans of the staff. McElwain as a coordinator is certainly familiar with and part of that strategy.

I would imagine that McElwain wants to run an offense similar to what he ran at Alabama with a mobile QB who can run, pass, and use his mobility in both areas. Thomas doesn't fit that mold.

McElwain also may not want to deal with a QB controversy. Grayson is a much better fit but still young and may make some mistakes, McElwain may not want to even deal with having an ex-starter who was at one time the looked at as the program savior.

Response by McElwain, "Hey Pete, we think your career would be better at a school that could make better use of your skills. Why don't you transfer?"

All speculation but would fit the pattern and make sense.

This time it may have worked, it will be interesting what happens when McElwain finds out that things at CSU aren't like Alabama. People won't just take his "cutting" of players in stride and he won't have the depth to justify it or do it anyways, he won't have a line up of FBS players waiting for scholly offers from him, burn off some recruiting links and it will get worse.

I just talked with Colorado State starting QB Pete Thomas who told me he's not sure if he's transferring. All reports are rumors. #mwc

This guy is a CSU alum, a former Rivals analyst and now a reporter somewhere in Arkansas...

You guys are WAY ahead of yourselves. Unfortunately for Bandy, the Pistol era must wait yet one more year due to transfer rules does it not?

CSU fans now want him to stay because McElwain is an astronomically better QB coach than Fairchild:lol:

Umm, a chance to transfer from CSU to an SEC school? Especially the SEC school with good academics? DUH? Great move for him, even if it means he doesn't get to live in Colorado.
