The graphic Buffalo was supposed to be used for the 1980 season, and cost the AD a couple thousand bucks to design. The financial tsunami that hit the AD meant we couldn't buy the decals, and we ended up having no logos at all on the helmets that year. Thanks Chuck Fairbanks! (the decals were his stupid idea, as was spending $40,000 (!!!!!!) to REDECORATE HIS OFFICE. That was the year we eliminated 8 varsity sports.
