Questions for the ASU game.

ASU will be the first P5 team will face this year and also a ranked team -although this early in the season I am not too enamored with the rankings. This game will be a better measuing stick of where this football team is both talent wise and football wise.

Is CU on the level of CSU and UMASS or can the Buffs compete in the PAC12 this year? After CSU laid an egg at BSU and the Buffs gave up a ton of points to a UMASS team that is suppose to be bad, the big question is what level are the Buffs at relative to other P5 teams. A solid performance will give some hope.

Can CU's defense slow down the ASU attack? UMASS averaged less the 12 points per game last year but managed to put a few up on CU. ASU has a high powered attack - this may not be a good match up. CU was able to stop UMASS when the defense started blitzing. ASU runs the same blocking schemes that CSU does but uses the zone read more to find the holes. This is time for the defense to learn from the first two games and to get some stops.

Can CU move the ball on the ground and in the air? The offense has been spotty at best this season. ASU's defense is suppose to be its Achilles heel, but they are probably better than CSU on defense. ASU looks to be more vulnerable to the run than the pass so can the Buffs get some yardage on the ground?

Can CU finally stop the KO return? ASU has not returned a KO this year - other teams do not kickoff to them much and they have all been touchbacks. Like to see CU not give up KOs to have short field situations for ASU - they don't need the help.

Can CU get some turnovers? CU only has one turnover this year, need some to stay in this game.

Please add your own questions. We will know a lot more about this team after this game.

The only question I really have: can the defense slow down the zone read?

Our lines must elevate to keep this game close. If Kelly runs wild we are sunk. Can our kicker put the ball out of the end zone?

Offensive possession is key for the Buffs. If we can control the ball, ASU is not running up and down the field. Gotta be able to get the ground game going O line!

Are Sun Devil cheerleaders sluttier in higher altitudes?

Will more away fans be traveling to Boulder this year for the combination of legal ganja and knowing they'll get to watch a victory?

This is the concern.

I think we are across the board better at the skill positions (with the obvious exception of losing PRich) Spruce is good enough to play against anyone and Fields and Bobo look to be legit threats. Irwin at TE isn't dynamic but he is already providing more than we had last year. Pow and Adkins are healthy this year and Lindsey may provide a spark at RB. Sefo is a year more mature.

On defense we are weaker at safety with Bell out but Chido and Thompson seem to be catching on and look to be PAC 12 level athletes.

Unfortunately our OL has been a disaster that didn't control the LOS against a mediocre CSU team and was inconsistent at best against a weak UMASS team. Our DL has been an unmitigated disaster and our OLBs are MIA. Gillam is tremendous but the injury to his arm really limits him.

Downside for us the old football adage about games won and lost in the trenches is true and I just don't see us matching up.

What beer will be we able to drink at the game?

Will we be able to order more than 2 at a time?

Is there any way to get cut off before the third quarter?
